Carmaker Toyota boosts output in Turkey
The Japanese carmaker Toyota’s Turkish unit increased its output by 38 percent in the first four months of 2009 over the same period last year. Toyota’s Kocaeli plant manufactured 19,295 units in this period, a 38 percent increase year-on-year, said the company officials. Toyota Turkey manufactured 3,464 cars in April.
The Japanese carmaker exported 18,061 units in the first quarter of 2009, including vehicles held in stocks; this figure was 42,430 last year. Toyota Turkey manufactured 126,521 and exported 119,586 units last year.
