Ford Turkey to start exports to US
Ford Otosan, a joint venture between US automotive giant Ford and Turkey’s largest industrial conglomerate, Koc Holding, is preparing to begin exports to the US.
Ford has never before exported cars to its home country from a Ford factory in Europe, and Turkey will be the first European country to export Ford cars to the homeland. The company plans to begin exporting Ford Transit Connect vans produced at its Kocaeli plant to the US, as well as to Canada. The exports are scheduled to be launched on May 22, with a ceremony in which Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to participate.
