People going to Turkey just goes up and up
The number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey during the 11 months between January and November 2007 rose 18.15 percent compared to the corresponding figures of 2006.
Some 22.3 million foreign visitors arrived between January and November, up from 18.8 million in the same period 2006. The figures were released by the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (Turofed) in a press conference.
These growth figures are much better than we expected, and a very positive development... It is likely that by the end of 2007 the number of arrivals will reach 23 million, said chairman of the board of Turofed, Ahmet Barut.
There are also a growing number of U.S. arrivals through cruises. Without doubt tourism arrivals will grow further in 2008.
