President Gul invites Irish businessmen to invest in Turkey
Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul invited Irish businessmen to make more investments in Turkey. “We want to further improve our bilateral relations with Ireland”, said President Gul at a joint news conference with Ireland’s President Mary McAleese in Ankara.
He thanked the Irish president for extending full support to Turkey‘s European Union membership process. Highlighting the importance of improving economic and commercial relations between the two countries, President Gul added, “I believe that President McAleese’s visit will make a valuable contribution to efforts to boost our economic relations. Turkey-Ireland trade volume currently stands at around EUR 1 billion. However we have great potential to increase it. We invite Irish businessmen to make more investments in Turkey.”
