Researcher says Turkey property prices are among the cheapest.
According to research results by ERA, Turkey is among the cheapest countries regarding property prices. In a report called Europe 2006-2007 prepared by ERA, Turkey is at the top of a list among countries where the percentage of becoming a homeowner is highest. The research also revealed that Turkey is the third cheapest country in real estate prices in Europe after Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
This year the survey has added Turkey to the research scope of the real estate markets in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Holland, England, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Luxemburg, Cyprus and Portugal. The report stated that in Turkey there is a strong real estate culture and the fact that foreigners have entered the market has revived the sector. The percent of people in Turkey who become homeowners is 68. In France this percentage is 58, in Holland 56, in Germany 42 and in Switzerland 37.2.
