Turkey: German retailer Rossmann to open 250 stores in Turkey
German drugstore chain Rossmann has entered the Turkish market with the opening of two stores in the capital, Ankara. Rossmann plans to have 250 stores in Turkey by 2015, with major Turkish cities like Izmir and Bursa being the priorities.
Having the third largest share in its native Germany’s personal care products market, Rossmann’s sales reached EUR 2.9 billion in 2009. Turkey is the fifth country in the company’s array of foreign investments in Eastern Europe, following Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Albania.
