Culture and Tourism Ministry Promotion Director General Cumhur Güven Tasbasi told Anatolia news agency on Sunday that while the rate of tourists was increasing, the rise in tourism income remained at 3.6 percent which was a consequence of the global economic crisis.
He said that Turkey hosted 11,571,427 tourists in the first six months of 2010, adding that Turkey’s 2010 target was to host 30 million tourists.
