Turkey: Turkey is likely to become an executive board IMF member

Following the G20 meeting of Central bankers & Finance Ministers held in South Korea, ) Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the Managing Director of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) the EU’s decision to give up 2 of its seats on the 24 member IMF Executive Board to allow seats for the fast growing emerging economies.

Commenting on Turkey’s strong economic performance Kahn said “I think Turkey is the most suitable candidate for a post on the executive board”, adding “I think the government (Turkish) is managing the economy very well”.
