Turkey: Turkish SMEs are targeted by foreign investors
Because of Turkey’s strong economic performance Turkey’s SMEs (Small Medium Sized Enterprises) have come to the attention of overseas investors who are lining up to acquire companies or form joint ventures in the SME sector.
These include the Russian steel giant Mechel, Spanish toy manufacturer Imaginarium and the chemicals manufacturer Depur Kimya, acquired by the Lebanese Baalbaki Group. The USA-based equity fund Riverside has also entered the Turkish SME market.
