Turkish Deputy PM expects higher growth rate in 2010
Turkish Deputy Premier Ali Babacan has put growth projection for Turkey in 2010 between %3.7 and %5.5, higher than an earlier expectation of %3.5.
Appearing on a televised interview on Sunday, Babacan said Turkey had come out of recession as of the fourth quarter of 2009, adding that the first three months of 2010 had seen “promising developments.”
Babacan said the government’s economy polices would lead Turkey out of the recession faster than other countries, adding the country would shrink less than an expected %6.
He said budget deficit had taken a downward trend as many other countries tried to tackle relatively high budget deficits.
