Recently released figures by TIM (the Turkish Exporters Assembly) show Turkey’s exports in April rose by 25 percent to nearly 12 Billion USD, an all time high. Turkey’s overall export performance for the first 4 months of 2011 totalled over 43 Billion USD and are firmly on track to exceed 127 Billion USD for 2011.
Commenting on the figures, Mr Mehmet Buyukeksi, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, said “Turkey’s zero-problem foreign policy helps establish better trade relations with surrounding countries, which in turn increase exports to our neighbours,” adding “Turkey’s exports to the countries in its region have risen considerably in the recent years,” noting many countries in the region have become important trade partners.
