21 July 2011 – Antalya Airport on Turkey’s southern coast has been voted the “Best Airport in Europe in the 10-25 million passenger” category.
Airports Council International (Europe) which represents 400 airports in 46 countries judges this award in a variety of categories including efficiency, structural and commercial development, quality of service and environment.
In 2010 Antalya had nearly 22 million passengers putting it ahead of such airports as Stansted, Palma de Mallorca and Malaga. For the first six months of 2011 passenger numbers are up 19% including 2,131,000 domestic and 7,771,000 international passengers.
