Posted on 30 September 2011

30 September 2011, Turkey – “IGDAS is the next company to be put to tender by IBB” said Adem Basturk, the Secretary General of IBB (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) about IGDAS (Istanbul Natural Gas Distribution Company) in a recent statement. IGDAS is expected to be privatised in 2012. IGDAS serves 4 million users consuming 4 billion cubic metres natural gas each year and following IBB’s successful sale of IDO (Istanbul Ferry Lines) for over 800 million USD there is expected to be strong investment interest from local and foreign investors. Currently Ankara’s gas grid is also undergoing the privatisation process. Source: Invest in Turkey
