Ankara, 1st February 2012 – Unlike European banks, Turkish banks had a very good profitable year in 2011 with profits reaching nearly 12 billion USD. In a recent report by Brand Finance, a London based brand valuation consultancy, eight Turkish banks were rated in the top global 500 for brand values with Akbank being rated 96th in the world. The other Turkish banks in the top 500 were Finansbank, Is Bank, Yapi Kredi Bank, Denizbank, Garanti Bank, Halkbank, Vakifbank, with their combined brand value being estimated at nearly 8 billion USD.
