Istanbul considering the privatisation of its public car parking services

Istanbul, 6 February 2012 – Following the successful privatisation of Istanbul Ferry Lines in 2011 the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is considering privatisation of its  Istanbul Parking Operations Company (ISPARK) which manages the public parking in the 28 districts of Istanbul. Founded 7 years ago with over 2,000 employees the company is estimated to be worth 4 billion Euros. The company also intends to add other related services including Istanbul taxi stations and city shuttles. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has several other companies in line for privatisation in 2012 including the Istanbul Natural Gas Distribution Co.
