Tripadvisor.co.uk has just revealed its latest list of the world’s top 25 beach holiday locations, and Olu Deniz is once again rated highly. The gorgeous Turkish lagoon bay is in 14th place, which is good enough, but it is also the highest rated European destination, which is even better.
This comes as no shock to us, or to anyone who has ever been to or even seen pictures of Olu Deniz; if Carlsberg made sheltered bays…
Olu Deniz is a curved bay around a gorgeous turquoise blue lagoon. The whole bay is sheltered by the Babadag mountain range which climb away from just behind the beach. The bay is known as one of the best paragliding spots in Europe, with paragliders launching from the mountains and enjoying the sheer beauty below; from above you can see all the gorgeous shades of turquoise and aquamarine greens and blues meeting and mixing in the waters.
It’s hot, it’s sunny, it’s sandy and the waters are clear and warm, which already gives it everything to be a top beach destination. The beauty of the bay and backdrop of the mountains are what sets it apart as a beach location worthy of being voted the best beach resort in Europe by TripAdvisor.
