Istanbul, 13 March 2012 – Turkey’s new education project to provide every elementary school student with tablet PCs and all classrooms with electronic boards should create a market of over 7 billion USD over the next 4 years according to Nihat Ergun, Turkey’s Minister of Science, Industry and Technology. Called the Fatih Project it will mean 15 million tablet PCs will be supplied to students in the first four years. Commenting on the project, Ergun said “The Fatih Project presents opportunities in such a scale that a technology firm can potentially leap ahead of its competitors. It carries an enormous market value” adding “Turkey’s rising income levels reflect positively on the growth in consumer electronics. The government will take the necessary steps to support investments in this sector with the Fatih Project”. Source: Invest in Turkey
