Turkey’s car industry launches new vehicle at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show

Istanbul, 7 March 2012 – Turkey launches its new Turkish designed, engineered and manufactured vehicle, the Karsan VI taxi, at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show. The V1 taxi was one of the finalists in New York’s recent tender for New York’s “Taxi of Tomorrow”, narrowly losing out to Nissan in the final drive off. The V1 taxi is set to enter production in 2014 and is built by Karsan, one of Turkey’s leading car makers, have made a 200 million Euro investment in the project. Karsan also manufacturer vehicles for Peugeot, Renault and Citroen. Turkey were also showing several other Turkish made vehicles, the Ford Otosan Transit, the Hyundai i20 and the Oyak Renault new Megane HB. Source: Invest in Turkey
