Istanbul, 12 April 2012 – During the recent official visit to China by Turkey’s Prime Minister to attend Turkish-Chinese Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum held in Beijing, PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited Chinese companies to invest in Turkey saying, “Chinese investors should take advantage of the recently unveiled incentives regime. We invite the Chinese investors to invest in Turkey, the emerging nation on the western edge of Asia”. The Turkish Prime Minister went on to draw parallels to China and Turkey as “emerging” markets in demographic and economic terms and agreed to set a target of 100 billion USD of trade by 2020 against 25 billion USD in 2010. During the visit Turkey and China signed a series of trade agreements in the energy sector including coal fired power stations, wind and solar. Source: Invest in Turkey
