Foreign direct investment into Turkey continues apace

Istanbul, 13 September 2013 – According to recently released data foreign direct investment to Turkey was 8.9 billion USD to the end of July 2012, of which over 75 percent originated from Europe with the UK being the largest with nearly 2 billion USD. Commenting on the performance, Zafer Caglayan, Turkey’s Minister of Economy, said “Turkey’s position as a popular destination for foreign investors remains unchanged despite global uncertainties” adding “Eleven of the Eurozone economies are yet to return to their pre-crisis state. Despite the grim outlook in Europe, continuation of the FDI inflow to the country is a success on Turkey’s part”. Source: Invest in Turkey
