Internationally acclaimed hotel group Hilton Worldwide signed agreements on a further four hotels in Turkey in December, bringing its portfolio in the country to 24 trading properties and 25 in its development pipeline.

This latest announcement sees Hilton Worldwide expand its existing presence in Istanbul and the port city of Izmir, home to Turkey‘s third largest urban population, with two new hotels in each city. The deals span the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton brands, all of which are rapidly expanding in Turkey.

Jim Holthouser, executive vice president, global brands, Hilton Worldwide said: “Turkey is one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic destinations, where we are developing a truly multi-brand presence. These four hotels across three different brands, located in the great cities of Istanbul and Izmir, will offer even greater choice to our guests, be they domestic or international travellers.”

Opening in 2015, Hilton Garden Inn in the Istanbul district of Beylikduzu will be a 126-room hotel located within a mixed use retail space in one of Western Istanbul’s fastest growing suburbs. Opening in 2016, Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Dolapdere will be a 170-room hotel in central Istanbul and boast signature guest services of the award winning Hampton by Hilton brand.

Meanwhile, in Izmir the Izmir DoubleTree will is a $1million refurb of the existing Yildizhan Hotel, with 115 rooms and a central location, close to the existing Hilton Izmir. And the Hilton Garden Inn in Izmir’s Bayrakli district will open in 2016 as a 182-room hotel. Just north of the city’s port and central district, the hotel will also offer all core HGI signature features and guests will have the option to stay in one of eight suites, utilize any of four stand-alone meeting rooms, while also benefiting from valet parking.

The start of 2014 will see the opening of Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center, while Hilton Istanbul Kozyatagi Conference Center & Spa and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Malatya are set to open later in the year, further enhancing Hilton Worldwide’s Turkish offering.
