Japanese pharmaceutical company in talks with Turkish drug maker

Istanbul, 1 August 2012 – Otsuka, Japan’s second biggest pharmaceutical company, and Abdi Ibrahim, the Turkish drug manufacturer, are discussing a partnership deal for the production of Otsuka’s Abilify, Pletal and Mucosta drugs. Speaking recently, Nezih Barut, Abdi Ibrahim’s CEO, said “This is the first time Abdi Ibrahim has a foreign partner” before adding “The deal includes both distribution and production of Otsuko-branded medicines”.
