The Antalya region of Turkey has always been an attractive destination for foreign nationalities, whether it is just for holidays or as an expat haven. It mainly achieved this by offering value for money through its budget hotels, restaurants and shops. Yet the last ten years has seen it embark on ambitious projects to attract the luxury market as well as budget, cash conscious savers.

Through numerous projects, it has achieved an all-rounder atmosphere, pleasing everyone from all walks of life, and the latest developments in Antalya prove that when it comes to the luxury market, the region can just as easily take on its fellow counterparts of Bodrum and Istanbul, both of which are renowned as the kings of hospitality and elegant living in Turkey.

Targeting the Luxury Indian Market

Indian weddings in Antalya

The Turkish government has recently dropped the 100-euro visa fee for Indians, and this is good news for Antalya, whose hotels are renowned as the ideal destination for an Indian wedding. For this nationality, these events are large gatherings hosting many family members and no expense is spared to make sure their days go smoothly.

The most famous example is that of Kamal Gupta, one of the world’s richest Indian executives, who took over the luxurious Marden Palace for three days. The Marden Palace is already classed as the most expensive hotel in Europe and has won awards for many luxury travel niches.

385 people were employed for the three-day event that is rumoured to have cost more than 10 million euros. With waived visa fees, the luxury hotels of Antalya are now specifically marketing packages aimed at the Indian, luxury tourist niche.

Future property owners will also have the luxury of being just 6 kilometres away from the golf courses of Antalya, that are considered some of the best in the world, having hosted the National Championships and players like Tiger Woods and Barack Obama.
