Increased flights between Turkey and countries in the Middle East should help maintain a high level of interest from Arab investors in Turkish real estate opportunities in 2014.

This month sees Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus commence a new four-times-a-week service between Kuwait City and Istanbul. Pegasus passengers will be able to fly to Kuwait on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from İstanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, while flights from Kuwait International Airport to İstanbul will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline plans to operate flights to Kuwait every weekday from 7th May 7. This new route means Turkey’s low-cost carrier now serves 77 destinations in 33 countries.

In other airline news, national carrier turkish_airlines”>Turkish Airlines has announced an extension to its partnership with Singapore Airlines (SIA), enabling the two airlines to share a raft of new routes beyond just those between the two countries. It means Turkish Airlines will add its code to SIA flights from Changi Airport to five cities in Australia, two points in New Zealand as well as to Brunei and Hanoi. The deal is a further example of Turkish Airlines’s strategy to become a leading international airline – it is already the fastest growing.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines is increasing the frequency of its services to Tehran and Kenya this summer, and has announced the launched of a new route to Rotterdam in Holland. As well as Iran, in the Gulf Turkish Airlines also has flights to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Oman and Yemen.
