We have just learned that a Saudi prince (we don’t know who as yet) is cruising in his Yacht off the coast of Bodrum, perhaps as a precursor to buying a property in the area, as Turkey has recently relaxed laws paving the way for Arabs to be allowed to buy property in Turkey for the first time ever.
Of course, that is a long shot, but not as long as the love affair between famous Arabs, including royalty and Bodrum.
In fact, dozens of royal, famous and otherwise wealthy Arabs already own villas in Bodrum; it is an exhaustive list: Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud; Princess Abeer al-Saud, from the family of Saudi Arabia Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Sultan; Saudi Arabian Security Council head Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud; Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah; his brother, Prince Nasser Sabah al-Ahmet al-Jaber al-Sabah; Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheik Muhammed Sabah al-Salim; Prince Al-Hasan; and Ali bin Nayef of Jordan. As Arabs are yet to officially be able to buy in Turkey, the ownership of these villas and title deeds belong to either architects, embassy personnel, honorary consulates or relatives who live in Turkey.
They love to own property in Bodrum and they love to bring their luxury yachts to its turquoise coastline. Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah and Prince Hassan of Jordan are all known to have cruised the Bodrum coast in their luxury yachts – you will see all of them on the list above.
So, the current prince in sailing off the coast of Bodrum could be in the market for a newly legal property purchase when the law goes green, but he could simply be enjoying a yachting holiday off the coast of Bodrum, or planning to moor and visit one of the many Bodrum properties already owned by the Saudi royal family. We will post more info as and when it comes in.
