A new community of luxury eco villas has put the Turkish resort of Antalya, the country’s largest coastal city located on the Mediterranean, firmly on the radar of wealthy international buyers looking for a state-of-the-art second home, said Spot Blue International Property in August.

The 38-unit riverside community, promoted by Spot Blue, occupies a prime site on the fashionable eastern edge of Antalya, making it highly appealing to the global jet set. Antalya’s international airport can be reached in 15 minutes and the city centre in 20 minutes, while Turkey’s finest golf courses are just 10 minutes away in Belek. The nearest beachfront is less than a kilometre away, where the landmark Mardan Palace, one of the world’s grandest and most expensive hotels, is located.

Rivalling the finest resort-style property available anywhere in the world, each villa combines the latest smart technology with cutting-edge eco features and contemporary architecture, both inside and out. The project is only the second in turkey“>Turkey to be awarded the internationally-recognised BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification.

The villas are either detached or semi-detached but all come with six bedrooms, underground parking, a home automation system, heated pool, garden, Spa, sauna and fitness room. Environmentally-friendly attributes include photo-voltaic panels on the roof for solar power, recycled irrigation tanks and eco building materials, including timber cladding. On-site facilities include 24-hour security and maintenance, a central TV and satellite system, a fitness centre, childcare service and playground, and organic supermarket.

“Properties of this quality and prestige don’t come along often so we are delighted to be able to offer them,” said Julian Walker, director at Spot Blue International Property. “As for location, Antalya was an obvious choice. The city and province together make up the second most popular destination in Turkey for foreign property sales, second only to Istanbul. It is a truly cosmopolitan city, with trendy night spots, world-class shopping, a historic old town, marina, and developing residential areas. It also a popular city for hosting global events, including its famous international film festival.”

Antalya is seeing a resurgence in foreign tourism in 2017. As of the end of July, the number of tourists visiting Antalya had exceeded five million. This represents a huge 62 per cent hike on the same period in 2016, when the total number of tourists for the whole year was 6.18 million. The province’s target number of tourists for the whole of 2017 currently stands at 10 million tourists. Antalya Airport is Turkey’s second busiest and often rated the busiest on the Mediterranean coast, ahead of Spain’s Palma de Mallorca and Málaga.

Prices at Antalya’s new luxury eco community range from €1.814 million for a semi-detached villa to €3 million for a large detached villa. Properties are being sold off-plan.
