What is the Island like?
Kythnos Island is the nearest to Athens, Greece, undiscovered yet a beautiful diamond of the Aegean Sea. The Kythnos landscape is a typical Cycladic one, dry and arid. However, the island has a particularly interesting characteristic: hundreds of kilometres of stone walls, called “xerolithia”, which are built in a local style and dominate the scenery. Another dominant element of the landscape of Thermia are the all-white churches, of which there are over 350, built all over the island.
