Javea otherwise known as Xabia is located at the foot of the Montgo protected Natural Park. The Montgo Massif is the highest mountain in the area and stands at a staggering 753m (2,470 ft) and offers shelter to Javea during the cooler months. Javea is often referred to as the “pearl of the Costa Blanca” and the “jewel called Javea” and rightly so! This small historic town was once an ancient fishing village, it has retained its traditional charm and the atmosphere is tranquil and relaxed.
