Altea 29 km south is an old Spanish town of winding streets and full of character, several marinas and there is also a golf course for the keen golfers. Javea 12 km north has the old town, the port and the Arenal which is the beach area this is another town which is popular with ex-pats from the UK. Benissa is 12 km inland a lovely Spanish market town with a rather grand church in one of its many squares. If sailing is your passion, then head to Denia 24kms north it has a large yacht marina, castle and you can hop on the Hydrofoil and visit Ibiza in 90 minutes. Shop until you drop in Guadalest 32 km inland where you can buy a variety of leather goods, fabrics and ceramics. Visit the castle and a small chapel for beautiful mountain scenery.
