What is the area like? Side is a lovely little destination, with very interesting history and plenty of things to do. It offers a laid-back, family friendly resort on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, around 45 minutes east of Antalya Airport and a couple of kilometres from the town of Manavgat, with its famous waterfalls. The nearby River Manavgat means the area is lush, green and fertile. Highlights of Side (which means pomegranate in Ancient Anatolian and is pronounced sea-day) include the pretty seafront and harbour area. Long sweeping beaches and Greek and Roman ruins, around which modern-day Side has been built. Side has two main beaches, either side of the peninsula one to the west, the other to the east, as well as a small sandy cove in the centre of the resort. The sandy west beach is fringed by hotel and resorts, some of which have their own section of beach, and is more developed than the east. You will find opportunities to take part in water sports, such as boat rental and tours, diving and para-sailing on the west beach. Where is the apartment? This apartment is well located and most places can be easily reached on foot. The old town of Side is approximately 15 minutes on the Dolmus. There are Dolmus stops close by the apartment, or there are taxis available. There is a range of shops and small bars close to this apartment that are within easy walking distance and the beach is approximately 10 minutes on the bus. Manavgat is the nearest large town, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes on the Dolmus. What is the apartment like? This apartment was built in 2004 and it is situated within a friendly and quiet complex that consists of two blocks, surrounding a shared swimming pool and communal gardens, all of which are very well maintained. There is one large pool for adults and a smaller pool for children, residents can also enjoy a nice communal barbecue area. Through the front door of this apartment is a vestibule area with fitted cupboards on the right hand side. To the left is a door leading to the bathroom, with a bath, sink and toilet. The vestibule leads to the kitchen/lounge area, it is open plan. The kitchen has fitted cupboards and a small breakfast bar divides the kitchen and the lounge has some fitted cupboards. The floors are tiled throughout and from the lounge are French doors leading to the balcony. There is a small gate and steps on the balcony, providing easy access to the garden.
