What is the area like?
Altinkum with its golden award winning sandy beaches are easily accessible. In the resort you will find something for every age, plus sun, sea, and sand. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants catering for every taste on the seafront, or go a few roads back and sample the more local tastes of Turkey. Altinkum is also host to many expat Turkish home owners. In the old town, everything is more traditional, it’s a great alternative to the more touristy shops on the sea front. The main street caters for everything from, T. shirts, bags and shoes, to key cutting, to small traditional butchers, patisseries, and the local bread shops, it’s an interesting street to walk down and explore. The centre piece of this street is the mosque towering over the old square.
If you were to go slightly north of the resort, you will find the ancient Temple of Apollo steeped in history, and everything around this area is in keeping with tradition as in the roads and street lighting and there are a host of craft shops and some lovely small restaurants here. Continue through to the small village of Mavisehir, here there is a wonderful night market open in the season, where you can stroll around and check out the great local fresh produce, followed by a waterfront stroll by the Aegean Sea, maybe stopping for an evening drink. For the children just 1 kilometre from here you will find the water park a must in the hot summer months and is a fun day out.
Where is the villa?
The beach is only a 5 minute walk away from the complex and is not used by tourists, the bay directly access via the beach is very shallow and sandy so great for children. If you want to walk into town to one of the 3 main beaches in Altinkum, it will take you approximately 20 minutes, by car only 10 minutes as you can access the track that most people use when walking. There is a big marina complex on the route to the main part of town that has great facilities such as a gym, tennis courts, bars and restaurants, not to mention some fantastic yachts. If you don't want to drive or walk into town for an evening meal, a lot of the good restaurants have a pick up and drop off service right from your front door.
What is the villa like?
This well presented villa is towards the back of the complex and commands a great view of the sea as it stands on one of the highest areas of the site. There is 24 hour a day security, a gated entrance that is always manned, and staff to maintain the pool and communal areas.
The villa is a semi detached building with a private carport and entrance that leads directly onto the front row of the main area of the site, which is a great position for all of the facilities. The villa has never been rented so is in very good condition as has hardly ever been used plus it is regularly checked.
As you walk through the front door into the entrance hall of the villa there is a marble staircase on the right, with a big lockable storage area directly under the stairs. A full length window from top to bottom, making this area very light. On the left is a large ground floor 3 piece bathroom which is fully tiled, as are all of the bathrooms.
Straight in front of you is the door leading into the open plan kitchen, living and dining room area with patio doors in far corner leading onto the terrace which overlooks the pool. This area is fully equipped with everything you need for day to day living, including air conditioning and mosquito mesh on the windows.
On the first floor there is another family bathroom, two bedrooms which are both doubles and come fully furnished including wardrobes, beds and air conditioning units. The bigger of the two bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and a terrace that is exactly the same size as the terrace off the kitchen and also overlooks the pool.
The top floor has a big three piece bathroom with a spa bath that has a shower above it, also within the bathroom is a modern boiler that provides constant hot water.
The master bedroom has a lovely high ceiling, air conditioning, wardrobes and a king size bed. There are patio doors leading from the master bedroom to the last and biggest of the terraces, once out on the roof terrace you have a great view of the sea and the main area of the complex. There is a big lockable storage area that is accessed from the roof terrace that can house, everything you need to relax. At the moment there are two sun loungers with big fitted covers, a table and chairs plus the BBQ. Which still leaves plenty of room for anything else you want to lock away when it’s time to leave.
What is the complex like?
This property is situated in a well-run complex that has a board of directors voted in by the owners as we own the maintenance contract. The benefits of this is that the yearly maintenance payment is kept to the lowest possible amount and all the owner have a say in how the site is run.
There are two swimming pools, one of which is positioned outside the villa, so can be viewed from all of the villas terraces. There is also a tennis court on site, a bar with a terrace and a shop. The site is well run by a mixture of Turkish and English people and a great place to relax and have fun.
