What is the area like?
The village of Uzumlu is one of spectacular natural beauty, set in a valley surrounded by dense pine forest and rugged hillsides. Close to Uzumlu is Cadianda, an ancient Roman site and Lycian City; the ruins of the amphitheatre, stadium, baths and temple are still there to explore today. There are numerous vineyards surround the village, which is renowned for the production of wine.
Uzumlu has managed to retain all the natural charm and character of a traditional Turkish village and yet still has the convenience of the modern town of Fethiye just a twenty minute drive away.
Where is the villa?
Surrounding the quiet village of Uzumlu are beaches, nightlife, Roman ruins and mountain scenery. Fethiye Marina is only 25 minutes drive away and a frequent, inexpensive, minibus service is available. Dalaman Airport is only 50 minutes drive from Uzumlu and a bus service is available from Fethiye. Oludeniz and Hisaronu are only a 45 minute drive away.
Yesil Uzumlu boasts several restaurants serving Turkish and European cuisine, an excellent Pide shop, Bakery and open air bars and restaurants. Many small shops provide local needs, including car-hire, property maintenance, builder's merchant, and the Friday market is always available for the weekly shopping. There is a utility room which contains storage cupboards, an American style fridge/freezer and a new Samsung washing machine. In addition an ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner, heater, insect killer and tools are stored in this area. Solar Heating provides hot water with a back-up immersion heater for the odd cloudy day. The villa is unique by virtue of its open-plan nature and is exceptionally light and airy; it has 3 shower rooms/toilets, one of which incorporates a large bath. Finally, this villa benefits from a new Satellite smart TV, DVD player, CD player and all modern conveniences including internet.
What is the outside like?
This wonderful home stands in its own grounds surrounded by stone walls and wrought iron railings. The garden is charming with roses, palms and assorted fruit trees. You can enjoy a large terrace area that surrounds the private pool and this whole outside space is very beautiful and private.
