Gulluk is lovely small old fishing village, which is only a ten minute drive from Bodrum international airport.
The original harbour here is a lovely place to spend the evening, as traffic is banned and the area opens up with lovely local restaurants, some of the fish restaurants are the best in the area, with fish caught daily.
There are other Turkish and international restaurants and bistros and small bars scattered along the waterfront, beaches and small beach clubs too. There is also a market day here every Thursday, which a must to pick up your weekly fresh produce.
There is a new marina nearing completion here, a second one on the drawing board and a third one planned for the future.
The roads are currently being widened as part of improvements here to the infrastructure.
The main centre of the resort has new supermarkets and many shops, so no need to travel out of the resort. The small bus station in the centre has a very regular service into Bodrum itself, which is approximately 30 to 40 minutes away.
If you are looking for something a little more traditional and not as much a pure tourist resort then Gulluk is the answer.
