What is the area like?

Gumusluk is the harbour of ancient Myndos and it is one of the oldest settlements on the peninsula. This area is steeped in history. Here are still a number of reminders of the area's historical past with the stadium, theatre and walls surviving from ancient Myndos and a Byzantine church today restored as a cultural centre.

On top of the hill are the remains of Kadikalesi (Kadı Castle), a Hellenistic fortification, together with a Roman church and cistern. You can snorkel or scuba dive in the clear waters of Gumusluk and discover for yourself the ancient ruins of Myndos. This is one of the few places on the peninsula that has been awarded a blue flag. The seafront area here is famous for its seafood restaurants and great tea gardens, the perfect spot for a lovely evening out.
