What is the area like?
Kalkan is a small, peaceful Mediterranean resort and fishing town with its harbour, beach, shops and many roof terraced restaurants. It’s clear turquoise waters were awarded with the prestigious ‘Blue Flag’ in 2011.
Boat trips can be arranged from the harbour, including traditional Turkish Gulets, canoeing, Kayaking and Para gliding are amongst the many water activities available. It is also a popular area for Diving and snorkelling.
There is a market on Thursdays where you can buy fruit, vegetables, local cheeses, spices, olive & oils, as well as hand painted crockery, linens, clothes and leather goods.
There are also shops in Kalkan also sell excellent quality leather bags, shoes and jackets, jewellery, spices, and Turkish towels (Hamams) which are very good quality cotton and cheap.
Turkish cuisine is considered to be one of the three main cuisines of the world due to its variety of recipes and its distinctive tastes. Olive oil is one of the most frequently used ingredients.
Fruit and vegetables are in abundance here, peppers, tomatoes, aubergines, green beans, leeks and artichokes and masses of different herbs & spices. Pomegranates, apricots, almonds, walnuts are used in many dishes in restaurants, along with meat and fish. Turkish food also offers many dishes for vegetarians, so be sure to sample the excellent cuisine on offer in the local restaurants.
Where is the villa?
This wonderful home is located in the heart of Kalkan within 10 minutes walk from the beach as well as a range of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and local amenities.
You can reach the beautiful marina within 15 minutes as well as the historic old town with its cobbled streets and boutique shops.
Finally, can access the D400 coast road which sits behind the property, within two minutes, yet the location is tranquil offering a peaceful residential environment.

On the second floor there is a large sunny roof terrace which enjoys 360 stunning views of the bay and its islands as well as the Taurus Mountains that stand behind this villa.
This roof terrace is a perfect place to relax in private and enjoy al fresco dining at the dining table, chairs, sun loungers and sunshade, which are also included.
Outside, you can enjoy a lovely garden which has mature olive trees and shrubs, shady and sunny areas, with sun loungers, a dining area and a BBQ.
