Gümüslük is a lovely fishing port and seaside village located in Bodrum in the Province of Muğla in the south-western part of Turkey. It is mere 1 hour drive from Bodrum Airport to Gümüşlük Bay meaning a short transfer from the airport to resort. As everyone knows Bodrum is well known as a popular summer destination and the centre of Bodrum can be busy during high season. Gümüslük offers a much quieter destination with a host of lovely restaurants near its pebble beach which is adorned with sunbeds.
This lovely little resort has open air markets where you can buy your fresh fruit and veg plus goodies such as souvenirs, trinkets and handmade ceramics, dried gourd lanterns and much more. Gümüslük is famous for its Lokma with orange (Lokma is small crispy fried balls of dough that are dipped in syrup it’s a very sweet dessert).
It is also the ideal location to take a boat trip from the pier and they sail daily during the summer season at 11am. They visit the small islands of Küçük Kiremit, Büyük Kiremit, Çavuş Island, and Çatal and the boat arrives back in Gümüşlük at 6pm and to top it off lunch is included in the trip price.
Over the years visitors to Gümüşlük have enjoyed their trip so much they decided to buy a holiday home there. There are many properties for sale including apartments and villas with stunning views of the Bay.
If you want a day in the centre of Bodrum it’s only a 21 minute drive away from Gümüşlük and here you can visit the castle, shop at the designer stores and boutiques, visit an art gallery or museum or sit at any of the small cafes and restaurants and enjoy a bite to eat or visit the marina.
