History

Spot Blue International Property was founded in 2003 by David Walker, who at the time was Director of the Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TBCCI). In 2004, the company became a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP), and The British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey (BCCT).[5][6]

In 2010, Spot Blue partnered with Rightmove Overseas, the international arm of the UK property portal Rightmove.[7] That same year, the company also began collaborating with A Place in the Sun, a British television program focused on overseas properties.

Late in 2008, when the latest James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, was released, The Telegraph ran a feature on the settings of various Bond movies. Spot Blue provided information on Istanbul for this feature.[9] The James Bond franchise later returned to Istanbul again for Skyfall. In 2013, Spot Blue contributed to Channel 4’s guide on buying property in Turkey, and director Julian Walker authored an overview of the Bodrum real estate market for The New York Times.[3]
