Weather in North Cyprus – North Cypriot climate:
North Cyprus is a warm and inviting destination for many reasons; however, one main factor in particular is the favourable climate. The coastal regions are warmer, and these are where the main holiday resorts can be found. North Cyprus is divided into six districts: Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Morphou, Iskele, and Lefka.
The majority of holidaymakers and property investors head to the Kyrenia and Famagusta regions, so we will concentrate on those areas for the weather and climate reports.
North Cyprus enjoys on average 300 days of sunshine per year, which is around 2,800 hours, with warm spring times, hot dry summers, and mild winters. The misconception is that North Cyprus does not have four seasons; it does. However, the climate is typically Mediterranean with lots of sunshine, mild temperatures during the winter months, and limited rainfall.

The Kyrenia region – Kyrenia, Bellapais, Lapithos, and Ozankoy The Kyrenia region’s average air temperature in the winter is 10°C and reaches 30°C in the summer. In the Kyrenia region, the winter sea temperature is 17°C, and during the summer, it is 28°C.
The Famagusta region – Famagusta, Iskele, Dipkarpaz, and Salamis The Famagusta region’s average air temperature ranges from its lowest at 11°C in the winter months to summer highs of 33°C. The average sea temperature in the Famagusta region in winter is 18°C and in summer is 27°C.
The Nicosia region – Nicosia, Morphou, Lefka, and Güzelyurt The Nicosia region’s average air temperature is 9°C at its lowest in the winter to a summer high of 37°C. The Nicosia region does not have a direct sea temperature as it is inland, but nearby coastal regions have similar sea temperatures.

The summer season in North Cyprus is from May to October, with the best months to visit being June, July, August, and September for maximum sunshine and the hottest temperatures. However, you may find sightseeing more comfortable in the spring or autumn months of April, May, and October when it’s a little cooler.
