Dazzling development puts quiet Valencian resort in the spotlight

A landmark off-plan complex is helping to put an untapped resort on Spain’s east coast on foreign buyers’ radar, said Spot Blue International Property in March, adding that the combination of proximity to Valencia city, cutting edge architecture and access to one of the finest beaches on the Costas should drive interest post lockdown.
Located in the small resort of Canet d’en Berenguer, 25 minutes’ drive north of Valencia city-centre, the striking project centres around two linked towers divided into 288 residential units of varying sizes. Common to each apartment is a generous outdoor terrace, some large enough to accommodate a private pool, and natural sense of flow between interior and exterior space. Meanwhile the contemporary design of the development brings an exciting edge to the local skyline.
“Special spots like Canet d’en Berenguer aren’t easy to find anymore,” said Julian Walker, director at Spot Blue International Property. “Previously overlooked for the larger resorts of the Costa del Azahar to the north or bright lights of Valencia city to the south, traditional homeowners there have been Spaniards attracted by the quieter lifestyle, the glorious 1.2-kilometre Blue Flag beach – voted the best in Spain on more than one occasion – and the boutique leisure marina.
“As more people discover the attractions of the wider Valencia area, we expect foreign interest in this undiscovered stretch of coastline to grow, especially while it remains comparatively good value. At the same time, this standout development, which is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2022, will contribute towards putting the resort on the international map.”
The development site is less than a kilometre’s walk from Canet’s unspoilt beachfront and marina, meaning many of the one to four-bedroom apartments boast stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Some units have dual aspect, while those facing inland look out across orange groves to the mountains of the Serra Calderona Natural Park.
The site incorporates 7,000 square metres of communal facilities, including 800 square metres of swimming pools, one being a spectacular infinity pool with chill-out zone on the 20th floor that links the two residential blocks. Owners also have access to padel courts, landscaped gardens, a children’s playground, a fully equipped gym and luxury spa area. There is 24-hour security while a concierge service can be organised on request.
“Complementing the superb, modern facilities is the development’s location,” added Mr Walker. “Being so close to Valencia, which is easily accessible via car, bus or train from Sagunto station, makes property there attractive to a diversity of buyers, from holiday homeowners to relocators who want to be near a cosmopolitan city-centre but still in a laid-back coastal resort. Not forgetting Canet is on the edge of the historic port town of Sagunto, which has plenty to offer by way of culture, shopping and amenities. The icing on the cake is the resort’s accessibility from the UK and wider Europe. Both Valencia and Castellon airports are less than 30 minutes away, while Alicante Airport is around a two-hour transfer.”
Spot Blue International Property is offering one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments off-plan, including standard and premium options, at the new Canet d’en Berenguer development.
