Guide to Cumbre del Sol

Wonderful views are found here in Cumbre del Sol it is located in the very heart of Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante in mainland Spain. Views of mountains and natural beauty lure visitors here as it’s close to the town of Benitachell which is one of the most exclusive areas of the Mediterranean coast. Cumbre del Sol, Benitachell, is located between Javea and Moraira, in the north of Costa Blanca. This beautiful residential area is close to delightful beaches and picturesque coves with clear waters. There are plenty of amenities and facilities, so you don’t have to visit the town of Benitachell to stock up on your shopping. The closest beach to Cumbre del Sol is Morach its also called Moraig beach, it’s a small beach, with coarse sand and pebbles, however, it has good clean and high-quality water, perfect for swimming, diving and scuba diving.The coastline is limestone, where over time, the sea has eroded out caves and formations, along the beach you find the Cova del Arcs (Cave of Arches) and the beginning of the Moraig Underwater Route.

The De los Tiestos Cove is exactly what is its name says a small cove; hidden away and only accessed by a small footpath, here you find serene calm seas and a gem of an idyllic beach. Cumbre del Sol is set apart from the town of Benitachell, accessed via quite a steep road.

It’s a beautiful location offering picturesque views, it’s popular with holidaymakers and golfing fanatics who visit this area often as it’s literally surrounded by golf courses. The Seve Ballesteros designed championship course located in Oliva or the course in Javea, and there is a great choice of courses within one hour’s drive of Benitachell.

The championship courses are a delight to golfers and they currently head to Spain more than anywhere else plus the clubhouses and excellent restaurants offer superb facilities.

It’s a perfect base for golfing and it appeals to the whole family as they can explore the Costa Blanca region to get a true flavour of the Spanish lifestyle. Alicante airport is 96.5 km away taking just over one hour to reach Cumbre del Sol. The climate in Cumbre del Sol is a mild typically Mediterranean one, with an average year-round temperature of 18-20° C which makes it an ideal holiday base. The delightful resort of Javea is a fifteen-minute drive away with its beach and port areas, Calpe and Moraira also nearby including the picturesque town of Denia. The Terra Mitica Theme Park is filled with thrilling rides and exciting shows and its only 30 minutes away from Cumbre del Sol. Further family days out should include visits to Aqualandia in Alicante there are plenty of water rides a big wave pool and numerous shows.

The Terra Nature Park in Benidorm is a beautiful park and if you are an animal lover you can see them in the zoo here. The Aqua Natura is a huge park filled with a beach pool, water slides, kid’s pool, lighthouse breakwater and a relaxing spa sun deck. There is horse riding at the local stables, go-karting facilities and tennis courts close by. There are plenty of excellent bars, cafes and restaurants serving local Spanish dishes and international cuisine or you can go to Benitachell for a more varied night out. If you want to party until sunrise or beyond a night out in Benidorm will hit the spot. You can see a show or get your dancing shoes on and dance the night away, in Benidorm the nightlife is vibrant and very lively.
